A most charming and characterful mid 19^th century stone built terraced cottage in the centre of Askrigg, and across the road from the pretty Askrigg Beck, Burn Cottage is ideally placed to make the most of the village and its amenities. Burn Cottage has been completely and sympathetically refurbished to make the most of its original features with deepset windows, beamed ceilings, stone flagged and oak floors, a multi fuel stove and a walled patio garden to relax in on warmer days. The Cottage has been carefully prepared to give you every comfort during your holiday, and a wonderful home from home to return to at any season of the year.

The Accommodation

Burn Cottage has a small entrance porch that leads through into the welcoming sitting room at the front of the cottage with its comfortable seating, antique pine dresser and multifuel stove. The door from the sitting room leads to the spacious and very well equipped dining kitchen with a white Shaker style kitchen and an antique pine dining table. A door from the kitchen takes you upstairs to the two single bedrooms, one with integral shower, a double room with an antique style wrought iron bed, and the family bathroom with, WC, washbasin, toilet and airing cupboard.

At the rear of the cottage there is a private walled patio garden with furniture and a couple of outside stores, including the coal store.

Multi-fuel stove in living room, storage heaters throughout the cottage, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine tumble drier, fridge, electric fan oven/grill, ceramic hob, toaster, cafetiere, kettle, TV, DVD Player, radio/cassette/CD player, tourist information, maps, books, games, hairdrier, iron and ironing board, torch. All Duvets, bedlinen, electric blankets and tea towels are provided. The bathroom is equipped with a bath, toilet, washhand basin, electric heated towel rail and shaver point. There is a shower in the single bedroom. the private walled patio garden is also equipped with furniture. On street parking. The Village shops and pubs are a mere 2-3 minutes walk. Children welcome but please bring your own cot and high chair if they are needed. All Electricity included in the hire charge, coal will be provided for the multifuel stove with the first bucket of coal provided included in the hire charge. We request that you pay us 50p per bucket of coal after that on an honesty basis to cover our costs, and we will ensure that sufficient coal is available for your stay. Firelighters, and matches are provided giving everything that you need to use the stove should you so wish.

Short breaks are available all year with Friday and Monday change over.

Towel hire available. Sorry no pets or smokers.
