4 Turpins Coach House Cottages - This visually stunning and imposing early 19th Century building was originally the Coach House and Stables for the nearby 'Owl Coaching Inn', (reputedly a haunt of highwayman Dick Turpin), that's now a fine old farm some 2 miles from the historic Derwent valley mill town of Belper. The cottages are furnished in bright, quality cottage style with many original features and guests will enjoy the pretty bedrooms and the well equipped Derbyshire galley kitchens. The Old Coach House is close to many footpaths, wander up to the Depth of Lumb: saunter along the nearby packhorse trail and lead-miners 'Portway'; and wander south to the wooded gritstone Chevin Hills. Belpers's formal River Gardens (summer Sunday brass-bands!) and Visitor Centre are around a mile, down by the town's historic Mills.
