A beautifully restored, fully-equipped early 19th Century school in the lower Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean. It sleeps six and all bedrooms are ensuite. Village pub/restaurant around the corner and lovely countryside nearby. Ground floor master bedroom opening on to paved patio looking down towrds the meandering River Wye and overlooking the ancient Royal Forest of Dean, the Old School is at the centre of the tiny Welsh village of Penallt. The school, nestling close to the village church, was built in 1834 from local oak and stone. The restoration of the school by a local architect in 1997, using local craftsmen and artists, retains all the essential character of the original building but also provides spacious accommodation and interiors of considerable style and quality. Awarded green tourism credentials by the WTB because of its eco-friendly services and systems and accessible to ths with moderate mobility problems. A wonderful place to stay with friends, to relax and enjoy quiet walks, good food and fine wine. If you need more space, there is a converted chapel next door that will sleep another 5 in similar luxury - see the website
