Scented honeysuckle and old roses ramble this very pretty stone 18th Century Woodmans cottage standing beside a tumbling mountain river and waterfall and just yards from where it meets the Upper Dovey river flowing in rocky gorges so completely free from any flooding, within The Snowdonia National Park.   Only half a mile from Dinas Mawddwy in a beautiful hamlet.

Dolgellau is about 7 miles N.W. and the coastal resorts of Barmouth and Aberdovey just 12-15 miles West.   The Dovey river has shingley shores, mossy banks and children and adults love it.   In Autumn Sea Trout and Salmon leap up the waterfall to higher spawning grounds.  

Spectacular scenery surrounds, green and purple high mountains dotted with sheep, ancient woodlands with badgers and pheasants.   Winding ferny lanes following rocky flowing rivers in secluded valleys.  All this yet River Dyfi Cottage is only half a mile from pub/hotels and 1.5 miles from shop, petrol and cafe.

Bala and Vyrnwy Lakes short drive with steam train, RSPB Centre and lots more.  Snowdon and North Wales coast within easy reach.  Cader Idris is ideal for walkers and the Dovey Valley Trail is from the doorstep.  Woollen mill at Dinas Mawddwy with coffee House and Packhorse Bridge, full of stories and legends about King Arthur and bands of brigands. 

Sandy beaches and clean sea bathing (European Approved) nearby are dotted around Cardigan Bay besides bustling market towns, street markets, and interesting small shops visited by travellers from near and far.  Bird watching country - Red Kite and soaring buzzards while fishermen love the area, private fishing beside cottage.  Dovey Valley Activity Centre has most outdoor pursuits catered for, horse riding, mountain bikes etc.
