The Old Vicarage is a late Victorian property standing in its own grounds.It has been tastefully converted to a cosy Guest House. Little has changed inside or out, doors, windows, wooden shutters and oak staircase are all original, as are the fireplaces upstairs.All bedrooms are well furnished and have full en-suite facilities, heating, tea/coffee tray colour TV and many little extras for your comfort.There is a lounge with many interesting books and maps for guests to borrow, with many on the Mid Wales countryside.We have now compiled several walks, with full descriptions and maps. These range from 2 hours to 7 hours walking for all abilities. Guests are welcome to borrow them during their stay.The dining room has seperate tables and is fully licensed. We offer a varied menu and serve an excellent breakfast.The Area.Llangurig at 1000ft above sea level, is reputed to be the highest village in Wales. It is the first village on the River Wye which rises, with the Severn in the Plynlimon hills, some 6 miles away.Llangurig is the exact centre of Wales, which makes it the ideal base to explore Mid Wales, and discover its hidden treasures. The pace of life is unhurried, with little traffic and no crowds, allowing you to walk forgotten paths and discover hidden valleys, that were once walked by monks and drovers in the heart of the Welsh Hills.Mid Wales is also famous for its wildlife, being the home of the rare Red Kite and other birds of prey.
