A retreat let with a complete difference for families, walking groups, bird watchers, nudists or holistic course leaders, surrounded by woodlands and rural Welsh hills, in a secluded valley of its own. Quiet solitude and peace within healing nature. 16th Century environment with friendly warm kitchen, large sauna, lounge, wood fire, (ready cut logs) central and under-floor heating. Kitchen has all amenities from dishwasher to microwave, and spring filtered water. Sorry no TV, since this house is often let as a meditation centre, it has been designed for peace and quiet. If you bring kids, there is old fashioned table tennis, lego, duplo, teddies, monopoly and snap, pencils and paper. There is a phone though, so you can catch up with e-mail's if necessary. The bedrooms are un-gentrified and clean, basically simple. In total there are 3 double bedrooms, also 7 single futons chair beds and 4 mattresses. + camping. Bring your own sheets, douvets, pillowcases, sleeping bags etc. If not coming for a break, bring a small group and run workshops. Suitable for yoga, meditation, singing, chanting, drumming etc. Large 21 foot x 18 foot practice room, (or as holiday let playroom with table tennis and toys) simple, with oak floors. The lawn is fine too, for workshops in good weather. It is south facing with cultivated lawns and perennial beds, mixed with wild flowers, gunnera, buddleia, dragon flies, newts and unusual butterflies, red kites, and migrating birds. 450 trees have been planted, within the 2 acres in and amongst the mature oaks and ashes which surround the property and near woods. Gardens are maintained between April and end October. Although Wales has a reputation for rain, the reality is that when it IS fine, it is quite beautiful, making walks refreshing and healthy and the Cryndir a good place to stay. Spend time in the garden or walk the Elan Valley, Breacon Beacons, Offas Dyke, near woods, forests, look for red kites, and sheep. There are also leisure centres, Llandrindod Wells National Bicycle museum, Victorian Festival at the end of August, Breacon Jazz festival and the seaside at Aberyswyth is about 1 hours drive away.
