Located on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park, we are ideally situated in the beautiful Dyfi Valley to explore the magnificent mountains, valleys or lakes of Mid Wales or spend a lazy day on the beach at Aberdovey. The hills are easily accessible and there are many paths for walking or mountain biking. Glyndwr's Way is two miles away accessed at Cemmaes road.Situated on the banks of the river Dyfi, there are wonderfull views along the valley and space to take a stroll by the stream or simply sit and enjoy the scenary.Seven miles to the south west lies Machynlleth, the ancient capital of Wales and seat of Owain Glyndwr's Parliament. Visit Celtica, browse the craft shops or stroll through the Wednesday street market.Sea fishing is available locally and the Dyfi is one of the finest Game fishing rivers in the U.K. The cottage is surrounded by wild life, particularly birds, and you will see anything from buzzards to woodpeckers. You may be lucky enough to see red Kites, a badger or even an otter. The R.S.P.B. reserve at Ynys Hir is about 14mls away.Five of the Little Trains of Wales are within easy reach, as are a number of castles, including Powys with it's magnificent gardens. The world renowned Centre for Alternative Technology is just over the mountain.As far as possible we serve local produce, including our own home grown fruit in season. All our preserves are home made. Vegetarians can be catered for and packed lunches are available by arrangement.All rooms are centrally heated and have a refreshment tray, hair dryer and alarm clock/radio.For the benefit of future guests Aberhiriaeth is a non-smoking guest-house and for the same reason pets are not allowed in the house.Nearest TownMachynlleth The ancient Capital of Wales and site of Owain Glyndwrs Parliament is 7mls away. Here you will find shops, restaurants/cafes and pubs. There are numerous local hotels serving lunches and dinners.Distance 7 MILES Distance to Beach (if applicable) 17 MILES Aberdyfi to north of Dyfi estuary, Borth to south. Magnificent beaches for bathing, sailing, fishing and many other watersports.
