Alma House is a pretty, traditional Welsh cottage which sleeps between four and six people. The cottage is one field away from the River Teifi and we offer salmon and sea trout fishing free of charge to our visitors. The accommodation is spacious and we have large gardens to the rear of the property, all safely fenced for children. We have five acres of gently sloping meadows that are bordered by the River Cych and the River Teifi and have the fishing rights to two extremely productive pools that can yield over a hundred sea trout and several salmon in a good season. The whole of the interior to the cottage has recently been refurbished and redecorated, theres a new fitted kitchen, central heating, easy to clean tiled and laminated floors and a modern bathroom. The gardens which catch the sun all day lead on to a large meadow of ours and are surrounded by the fields of an organic farm which grazes sheep and cattle on the land. Wildlife abounds in the area which has an S.S.S.I. designation. There are a lot of otters on the river, red kites are frequently seen and the owls and foxes can all be heard as the night settles. Badgers are commonplace as are the sea trout and salmon which can be seen in the river as they leap upstream. We have five acres of riverside fields which are ideal for enjoying nature. The village of Abercych has two very good pubs, one a typical village local and the other quite a special riverside pub with its own microbrewery, guest ales and a renowned reputation for its delicious large meals. Although the village is set in beautiful countryside it benefits from being close -about seven miles- to the sandy beaches of West Wales and the market towns of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn. Cardigan has an extremely good art centre, Theatre Mwldan, which has a newly completed cinema and theatre and offers a full programme of films and shows throughout the year.
