The cottage, thought to be built in the 17th century maintains all the charm and tradition of Welsh Culture with log fires, beamed ceilings, pine floors and all the nooks and crannies rarely found in today's architecture.

The cottage lies between the Medieval Historic Towns of Ruthin and Denbigh amidst rolling countryside, lush valleys and superb landscape. Once part of a working farm, the property sits in 34 acres of pastureland, orchard, private woodland, gardens and wildlife ponds. Horses are welcome to accompany you on your holiday. EXCELLENT WALKS GAME FISHING, CYCLING, HORSE RIDING & GOLF

The cottage boasts magnificent views of the Clywdian Range and Moel Fammau, an area of outstanding natural beauty and only 15 minutes drive away. With rugged hills, deep valleys, long flowing rivers and quaint villages the Clwydian Hills are seeped with historical interest. The famous Offa's Dyke footpath is almost 200 miles long, which commands outstanding views, enchanting landscapes, moorland birds and wildlife, and remnants of ruined castles and archaeological monuments.

Right on our doorstep is the recently developed Mynydd Hiraethog Trail that spans for a staggering 40 miles connecting the Denbighshire Moors with Snowdonian Park (there are plenty of circular routes for shorter walks!).Mynydd Hiraethog (meaning 'The Hills of Great Loving"), is often referred to as the Denbighshire Moors, and is thought to have been occupied by man since 5700 BC. There are still historical remains of Bronze Age burial sites and Iron-Age hill forts giving the area a Site of Special Scientific Interest award (Berry D, 2001). With a long history of undulating power struggles, it is hard to believe that the tranquil valleys were once areas of borderland dispute. With the gentle breeze rustling through the lush conifer plantations at Clocaenog, the gay chatter of songbirds, calm flowing rivers and the scuttle of wildlife; Mynydd Hiraethog is a picture of serenity.

Llyn Brenig, a 920 acre site offers excellent Trout and Fly Fishing, Mountain Biking, Nature Trails and Water Sports (approx 8 miles from the cottage). Cyclists can explore the Clogaenog Forests or several other cycle routes close by.
