Ty Watton is an 18th century cottage of endearing character in a beautiful setting. The original structure once housed two separate cottages which were home to railwaymen from the Brecon and Merthyr Railway. It's hard to imagine now but in those days steam engines used to chug their way through the woods to the east of the cottage along the track that they maintained. Sometime in the last century, the two cottages were joined together to form Ty Watton and we have recently extended further to provide more living space. The cottage now sleeps six comfortably in three bedrooms. Aber is a small and attractive hamlet just a few miles off the main A40 BRECON-ABERGAVENNY road. The nearest village is Talybon-on-Usk with a shop/Post Office/cafe and pubs which serve meals.The Taff Trail runs close by for walks or cycling into Brecon or around the Beautiful Talybont Reservoir and numerous walks into Brecon Beacons. Maps and suggested walks are provided. Golf Courses. There are two courses in Brecon and two in Abergavenny. Boating Llangorse Lake for sailing and boating. Ty-Watton is an isolated cottage along a bridle-path 100yds off the road. The only sounds are that of the stream at the bottom of the garden, the occasional cry from a buzzard or bleating of sheep in the near-by field. Come hear to relax and get away from it all.
