The uninterrupted horizon from the very south of Arran gives a true feeling of being on an island. You can also make out the Mull of Kintyre, Pladda, Ailsa Craig and other noteworthy landmarks from this area. Blackwaterfoot is home to Arran’s only 12-hole golf course, as well as other sporting facilities. There are several hotels and pubs in the village as well as village shops and a post office. The short trip up the “String Road” through Shiskine, takes you to Balmichael Visitor Centre - one of Arran’s key attractions, just 6 miles from Brodick.
