Eastcroft is a traditional croft's cottage considerably modernised since it was built in 1858 by the present owner great-great grandfather. It is situated at Lochon which is a small peaceful community built around the head of a sea loch. We are 3 miles from the ferry terminal at Craignure and in a central position for exploring Mull. The views from the cottage are fantastic and change with each season. In Spring the gorse is a vivid yellow and bird are nesting on the small island opposite the cottage. In Summer the rhododendrons and wild iris are in full bloom, wild Orchids flower in the croft and along the roadside. In Autumn the colours change to coppers and golds and in Winter snow can be seen on the hills. There is an abundance of wildlife to see and many species of birds to observe, the most famous of these being the sea eagles which can often be seen over the loch. Eastcroft has a cosy lounge with an open fire which heats the radiators and the water, there are electric heaters in all rooms and an immersion heater for hot water, if you do not want to light the fire. The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine. tumble dryer, calor gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dining table and small appliances. The bathroom is modern with toilet, basin and bath with shower over. The loft bedroom is accessed by a staircase from the hallway and contains a double and 2 single beds. The cottage sleeps 4 and prices range from £300.00 - £420.00 and all fuel, bed linen and towels are provided. We are happy for you to bring your children and your dog. Mull has many places of interest Duart Castle and Torosay Castle are 1 mile down the road. In Craignure there is a newly built swimmimg pool, a golf course, a narrow gauge railway that can take you to Torosy gardens, a shop with post office and several restaurants. Tobermory is the main town (where the children's program Balamory is set) there you will find shops, cafe's, and a sea life centre where boat trips can be arranged. There are wildlife tours, boat trips, horse riding, a heritage centre and Mull theatre to be enjoyed. So Mull has something for everybody whether they are bird watchers, nature lovers, walkers, fishermen or just want to relax and unwind and get away from the traffic and crowds.
