East Kames was built in 1997 and has a magnificent position overlooking Kames Bay which is close to the head of Loch Melfort. It has extensive grounds and a gate from the garden gives direct access to the shore where you may well see seals, cormorants and eider duck.
This is a large modern house on one level which can easily accommodate extended family groups or two families. There are 5 bedrooms, 3 of which have en-suite facilities. A feature of the layout is that 2 of the bedrooms and the second living room can be divided off, thereby making the house suitable for smaller family groups during the off peak season at reduced rates.
This is a truly wonderful base from which to explore. A short walk down the road are the renowned Arduaine Gardens. Go south and watch the boats using the Crinan Canal between the Sound of Jura and Loch Fyne or maybe stop before you get there and take a walk back in history at Kilmartin Glen. To the east is the aptly named Loch Awe or you can travel a few miles up the road and drive westwards across the Atlantic Ocean onto the Isle of Seil. Oban, often referred to as the Gateway to the Isles is approximately 20 minutes drive to the north.
