Garden Cottage is a short 5 minute level walk to Helensburgh town centre and only 100 yards from Helensburgh's west esplanade. Train links Helensburgh directly to the city of Glasgow and beyond. Helensburgh is packed with restaurants, bars and cafes and the views over the River Clyde and surrounding hills make a walk along the promenade very worth while. Guests could also enjoy a trip on the paddle steamer or ferry's, which run from the Helensburgh peir stopping at many destinations including Dunoon. The world famous West highland railway runs through Helensburgh and is a very popular trip for photographers and walkers with the final destination being Oban. From which visitors can join a steam train up to the highlands of Scotland or catch a ferry to various islands on the West Coast of Scotland. Helensburgh is situated by the gates to Loch Lomond National park and is a short 15 - 20 minutes drive from the beautiful village of Luss and the lively village of Balloch. The scenery in these areas is spectacular and is a paradise for hillwalkers and ramblers. A cruise on Loch Lomond is highly recommended.
