The beautiful,  countryside and rugged coastline can be explored using varied walking and cycle paths. For sports enthusiasts a challenging 9-hole golf course is just 150 yards from Bayview - or the world-renowned 18-hole Machrihanish Golf Course is just 30 minutes to the south. Horse riding and sea fishing are available locally, sandy beaches are just a stone’s throw away at Port Righ, Torrisdale, Saddell Castle or at Carradale’s renowned mile of golden sand at the ‘big bay’. The wildlife reserve is also worth a visit where birds, seals, otters and bottlenose dolphins can be spotted; Carradale Glen could provide a sighting of the pair of nesting golden eagles.

Carradale has a small but varied selection of great eating places, serving locally sourced produce. It also boasts two family-friendly pubs, post office, petrol station and also a general store/bakery. \To the south is Campbeltown (16 miles) with its range of amenities including a museum, heritage centre, cinema and swimming pool/leisure centre. When the tide is low, venture on foot over to Davaar Island to view Archibald MacKinnon’s 1887 cave paintings or take a drive to the lighthouse and area Sir Paul McCartney remembers in his song titled ‘The Mull of Kintyre’.
