Well equipped modern bungalow (slps upto 9 in 5 bdms) . On a quiet road on National Trust land with open view across Loch Torridon to the mountains. 1 acre of fenced garden and woodland. Abundant wildlife. Secluded beach nearby. 7 miles from Shieldaig Peaceful and quiet, the Loch Torridon is one of the more beautiful parts of the west coast of Scotland. The location is ideal for walking, climbing, wildlife watching and exploring Wester Ross. The climate is mild, being warmed by the Gulfstream, and tropical plants are grown at Inverewe, not far away from the bungalow. CALADH THE ACCOMMODATION The bungalow has a sitting room that has an open fire and satellite TV. There is a large kitchen / diner that also has an open fire, a fridge, a freezer, a microwave and an automatic washer / tumble drier. Downstairs there are 3 bedrooms (1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 1 smaller twin bedroom), a bathroom and two WCs. The bungalow's enclosed garden has seats and a picnic table. In addition, there is an adjoining one acre hillside plantation that is part of the property, with rhododendrons, eucalyptus, hardwoods and conifers, and also a 'retreat house'. From Caladh it is a mere 3 minutes walk by footpath to the beach. There is no road to the beach so you are assured of peace and quiet. The bungalow is built on National Trust land and the neighbouring estate is a National Nature Reserve. There are visitor centres that can give guidance on the great variety of walks, on well marked tracks and over wild mountains. For parties up to 9 maximum there are two upstairs bedrooms, double (king sized) and (small) single (both normally locked) can be made available at an extra charge of £200 per week. These upstairs bedrooms have not been included in the Tourist Board grading. The kitchen / diner can seat up to 8 people at a sitting, but the sitting room is not over large. To take up this option, notice must be given and payment made to the owners 3 weeks before the holiday. Experienced hill walkers will enjoy the mountains of Torridon, Applecross and Wester Ross including Liathach, Beinn Eighe, Slioch and An Teallach.
