Fern Cottage is situated on the outskirts of the pretty Highland village of Nethy Bridge, in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, an area of outstanding beauty. This house is perfect for a family get together, or for two familes sharing, and the owner has been mindful of providing plenty of facilities for entertaining children, including a trampoline, a PS2, table football and some toys and games. The garden to the rear of the house is a grassy area with patio and barbecue and runs into the natural forest behind and is a great place for children's games. The area's attractions are well known, including the famous Spey Steam Railway, the funicular railway which takes you up the mountain, watersports, and adventure park. Skiing, snow boarding, gliding and mountain biking are all catered for close by and ensure a fun packed holiday at all times of year. Loch Insch and Loch Morlich are both excellent watersports centres and even those with little experience can enjoy canoeing on the loch. The Kincraig Wildlife park is only 20 minutes' drive and here are wolves and bison, amongst other exotic animals. This is a drive through park with an information and activity centre. The village of Nethy Bridge has a pub within walking distance of the house and a shop to pick up the morning papers. Just 15 minutes' drive away is Aviemore with its extensive shopping facilities and restaurants. There is also a pool and leisure centre open to the public. The house is packed with entertainment for children, including a pool table, darts, table football, board games, PS2 and games, videos, DVDs and books. The furnishings are practical and contemporary and the kitchen is well equipped for catering and seats 8-10. Whilst being great for families, it is also suitable for 4 couples wishing to enjoy a Highland holiday together, and there are several excellent golf courses in the area.
