Welcome to Fois a ChridheFois a Chridhe (‘Hearts at peace’ in Gaelic) is a luxury three bedroom, newly built cottage nestled within the tranquil village of Morar in Inverness-shire. The cottage is just a few minutes walk from the famous ‘Silver sands of Morar’, and a 5 minute drive away from Camusdarroch beach of ‘Local Hero’ fame. Fois a Chridhe is beautifully finished and is the perfect blend of modern convenience and traditional charm, which will appeal to adults and children alike. The cottage has most modern amenities, including oil fired central heating throughout, making it a cosy retreat whatever the time of year. In addition gas and electricity, towels and bed linen are all included at no additional cost in the rental price. There is adjacent parking, and an enclosed garden with a decking area for enjoying the out-of-doors. Additionally the local play park is situated closeby along with the local football pitch. (Please be aware for safety reasons young children should not be left unattended).
The House Fois a Chridhe can sleep up to 6, plus one infant under the age of 2, in comfort. Two of the three bedrooms are on the first floor, one with bunk beds and an ensuite shower room and the other with a double bed and ensuite bath and shower room. The two upstairs bedrooms are large with walk-in wardrobes and also being able to accomodate a travel cot if required. There is another bathroom and smaller double bedroom downstairs, the cottage is ideal for those with accessibility limitations. The rear entrance to the property has an access ramp and is suitable for a wheelchair of up to 2'3" width. The cottage is romantic both in setting and finish but is also fully equipped to meet the practical needs of those holidaying with babies and young children. Most of the downstairs floor covering, apart from the bedroom, is tiled and is easy to maintain. Fois A Chridhe has modern laundry facilities with many safety features such as stair gates, bath mats and socket covers. A travel cot and highchair are available as needed. The house adjoins another privately owned property but is completly seperate from it with gardens at opposite ends to ensure quiet and privacy for both. Small fully enclosed garden The Area Fois a Chridhe is perfectly located both for adventurers with a passion for the mountains as well as those who love beachside life. Morar lies about an hour to the NW of Fort William within NW Lochaber, 5 miles from Arisaig to the South and 2 miles from Mallaig to the North. How to bookMallaig is a thriving fishing community and you can't stay here without sampling some of the local produce - it's awesome! From Mallaig visitors can catch a car ferry over to the western isles and go on fishing and wildlife expeditions. The village of Morar is perfect both for those in need of a stress free safe haven or simply as a comfortable base for a seaside higland adventure. Morar is situated on the beautiful railway line from Fort William to Mallaig and is served by a picturesque station. Visitors can watch the Jacobite steam train which passes through twice a day in the summer months. If you are travelling by train - Fois a Chridhe is only a 5 minute stroll downhill from the station. The calendar on the website indicates when the cottage may be available. Booked slots are shown in red, available slots (at this time) are in green, and provisional bookings shown in amber. Please contact us to double check in case of last minute availability. If you would like to book the cottage please double check availability with us either by phone or e-mail and we will provisionally hold the booking for you for 7 days.
Bookings will only be witheld upon receipt of the completed booking form accompanied by a non refundable deposit cheque to cover 50% of the fee. Please download the booking form from our website. If your booking is a month or less from the date of booking the full balance will be required at time of booking, otherwise the balance will be due 4 weeks before the date of the holiday. A seperate cheque for £50 should also be submitted at the time of booking which will not be cashed as long as the property is left as found. (Cheques should be made payable to K. Bradshaw). Many thanks. Off season, between November to March, weekend lets of 3 nights duration may be available by prior agreement. Dates over the Christmas and New-Year breaks may also be negotiable, although stays of a minimum of one week will apply over this period. For general queries please contact us.
