The Drey - Available from November 2005
The Drey is an architect designed cottage on the road to the Corrieyairack Pass close to Lagganbridge. situated on a south facing slope and surrounded by Scots pine trees, the house has been designed to take particular advantage of the dramatic views of the Monadhliath hills and Creag Meagaidh. In an attempt to encroach on the natural habitat as little as possible the house has been built on stilts and is clad in locally sourced larch to merge with its woodland setting.
There are three twin bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room and there is a second bathroom with a shower over the bath. The living area is open plan and includes the kitchen, dining space and living room. Under-floor heating and a solid fuel stove guarantee a cosy homecoming after an active day outdoors ensuring all round comfort for evenings in front of the television, reading a book or listening to music. In summer look forward to opening the patio doors on to the deck and languishing in the drama of the scenery and bird life.
The kitchen is equipped to cater for eight - expect to find a gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Extra mattresses for children, a cot and feeding chair are available at a nominal extra charge. All bed linen, extra blankets, towels and a hairdryer are provided.
There is lock up storage for mountain bikes, fishing gear, skiing, hill walking and climbing equipment.
A washing machine and tumble drier solve the problem of wet and muddy gear. Pets are more welcome than smokers but must be kept under control at all times.
The Drey is accessible for and welcomes wheelchair users.
