Number 2 Old Ground InvergarryNumber 2 Old Ground Invergarry is a former Aberchalder Estate workers cottage constructed with thick stone walls. According to the date stone in the front wall it was built in 1874 when it is believed to have been occupied by the estate gardener. The estate was acquired in 1860 by the Ellice family, who carried out much development in the village of Invergarry which contains several properties that date from this period including the school, church and hotel. This Grade B listed mid terrace cottage is one of a row of four and has been completely renovated and furnished to a high standard in 2003 for use as a self catering holiday home with fully equipped kitchen and modern shower room but retaining many period features that add to the charm and character. The cottage has a sitting room, hall, and kitchen on the ground floor and a double bedroom with adjacent shower room upstairs. |

The Sitting RoomThe Sitting Room is comfortably furnished with armchairs for relaxing plus dining table and chairs. For your entertainment there is a flat screen television with integrated DVD player and separate micro hi fi. A thermostatically controlled electric panel heater will keep you warm. The focal point of the room is a brick feature fireplace containing a Morso Squirrel stove, that provides a cosy atmosphere and not only warms the sitting room but heats radiators upstairs, supplementing the electric heaters. We provide a complimentary fuel starter pack for the stove. This room is south facing and the window overlooks the front garden with a view of the hills across the glen. From the Sitting Room a winding cottage style staircase leads to the bedroom and shower room. |

The KitchenThe Kitchen is fully fitted with attractive modern base and wall units, a 1 1/2 bowl sink, ceramic tile floor and electric panel heater plus everything you need for your stay. Equipment includes fridge with freezer compartment, built in oven and electric hob with extractor over, microwave with grill and a washer/drier as well as kettle, toaster, filter coffee maker and a full set of crockery and cookware for 2 people. There is a small breakfast bar with stools. Two windows overlook the rear garden which together with a Velux roof window give this room a light and airy feel. |

The Shower RoomThe Shower Room has a modern suite with shower cublcle containing an electric shower with extractor and light over. Recessed mirror over the washbasin with feature lighting and shaver point. Electric panel heater and radiator. Bath and hand towels are included. |

The BedroomThe Bedroom is comfortably furnished to reflect the cottage style proportions of this attic room. With sloping ceilings, cottage style door, original cast iron roof window and pine furniture, the room has a period feel without the loss of any modern comfort. The built in wardrobe has ample hanging space and with a chest of drawers and dressing table, there is enough storage space for all your holiday needs.
