Braemoray is a spacious and very comfortable modernised house set in
the beautiful private grounds of Novar Estate close to the village of
Evanton, Ross-shire, just 20 minutes by car from Inverness. Awarded 4 stars for quality by VisitScotland, it is an
ideal location from which to explore the Northern Highlands. At
Braemoray we specialise in providing salmon and trout fishing holidays,
but Braemoray is also available for non-fishing holiday lets. Braemoray
sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 delightful bedrooms each with its own
private bathroom, and is ideal for a family or group of friends. The
house lies in a peaceful setting surrounded by woods and deer parkland,
with access to walks through the estate forests, inhabited by abundant
wildlife including roe & sika deer, red squirrels and pine marten.
A trout lochan situated 200m from the house, frequented by ospreys in
summer months, can be fished by prior arrangement.
Braemoray is generally let by the week, but in low and mid-season we are pleased to consider shorter lets. Weekly lets of Braemoray are from Saturday to Saturday from November to June inclusive, and from Sunday to Sunday from July to October inclusive, to fit with salmon fishing lets during the prime season. Salmon & Trout Fishing - Through TroutQuest (www.troutquest.com) we can provide salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Alness, wild brown trout fishing on many local lochs, and rainbow trout fishing on a private lochan. Fly fishing instruction by a Salmon & Trout Association qualified instructor is also available. Wildlife Watching - The Northern Highlands offers some of the most beautiful and unspoilt scenery in Britain, with rich and varied wildlife. The Moray Firth area has easily viewed populations of bottle-nosed dolphins, seals, and deer, as well as more elusive mammals including otter, pine marten, and wildcat. It is also a superb bird watching location with osprey, red kite, golden eagle, peregrine, black and red-throated divers, capercaillie and black grouse all seen locally. Golf - Braemoray's location is perfect for golfers, with 9 links and inland courses within a 45 minute drive, including the championship courses at Royal Dornoch and Nairn, Fortrose & Rosemarkie, Tain, Bonar Bridge, Invergordon, Alness.
