This newly upgraded Bothy is part of a larger farm building which has been converted and houses a large living room/kitchen unit next door to the bothy, as well as an artist's studio at the other end of the building. The Bothy comprises a downstairs all-in-one living room, kitchenette and shower room with toilet and an upstairs bedroom accessible by somewhat steep stairs. It is centrally heated and also has a wood-burning stove; it has all the necessary equipment for a perfect self-catering stay. The Farm is situated along a quiet country road, on top of a hill, with views of the sea and the hills. It has 12 acres of woodland and comprises a working tree and wildflower nursery. The many trees surrounding it give it a charming and secluded feel, with many quiet spots for relaxing and for picnics. There is an outside bread oven which is available for use. An artist's studio is on the premises and tuition is available by arrangement. A piano and a music-making room are available on request. Nearby facilities include many large supermarkets, golf courses, horse riding, an open air heated sea water swimming pool and indoor pools, sea and river fishing in season. There are many good restaurants in and around Aberdeen and Stonehaven, both towns are only 20 minutes away by car. Royal Deeside, with its many castles, is within easy reach.
