Stirlingshire Vacation Cottages Killin

Tigh Na Beithe

* This property is accessible to those with disabilities.

Tigh na Beithe is a delightful newly refurbished cottage on the outskirts of the pretty village of Killin, in the ancient Breadalbane region of Perthshire. Killin is famous for the stunning white waters of the Falls of Dochart - acknowledged as one of the finest scenes in Scotland.
The Cottage comes with fishing rights on the Lochay.

Near Loch Tay, Tigh Na Beithe has a wonderful and private setting with uninterupted views over fields and the Lochay to the mountains beyond.  Ben Lawers forms a stunning backdrop, at 3983 ft. it is the highest mountain in the central highlands and along with nearby Ben More and Stob Binnein, offer some of the most challenging hill walking in Scotland.  The large garden has an enclosed area which pet owners will appreciate, and a lovely seating area where you can relax in comfort and enjoy the views.  The parking is plentiful, and a garage with secure storage for cycles and other equipment, and a drying room for wet clothes and  boots is extremely useful.

Tigh Na Beithe has one double with en-suite and one twin with adjacent seperate bathroom.  The twin is spacious and one single has a proper (and very comfortable) "stow away" bed that families will appreciate.  There is a cosy lounge with open fire and large kitchen dining room with patio doors leading out to a second outdoor seating area, taking full advantage of the wonderful setting.  All the accomodation is on one level and is very generous in proportion.  The cottage is beautifully appointed and very well equipped making it a true home form home, ensuring a warm welcome and restful stay.

Bed linen and towels, central heating, supply of fuel for the fire and £10 of electricity are INCLUDED.   Well-behaved pets are welcome.

Killin is renowned as a first class centre for many outdoor pursuits and as such, attracts visitors from all over the world.  Surrounded as it is by spectacular mountains, native woodland and extensive forestry, rivers and Lochs, Killin is hard to beat as a base from which to enjoy many varied sports, including, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, scuba diving, trout and salmon fishing, horse riding, cycling and walking.   Within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, the area offers an impressive and well publicised network of walks and cycle routes, as well as well maintained picnic sites that will be appreciated by those seeking a less challenging and more restful day out.  There are many quiet and secluded places to explore where you can lose all sense of time - we'll leave plenty of information in the cottage to guide you on your way!

Further afield, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Ben Nevis, Oban and the West Coast are all accessible within a few hours drive on good quality roads.

Breadalbane is rich in history and folklore, from pre-historic standing stones at nearby Dunchroisk and Iron Age crannogs on Loch Tay, from it's connection to Fingal, a mythical Celtic hero who gave his name to Fingal's Cave on Staffa and the Giants Causeway in  Ireland to early Christain connection with St Fillans and Fortingall, home to what is said to be the oldest Yew Tree in Scotland and enthralling Clan rivalry with it's association with Finlarig Castle, the enchanting ruins of which stand only yards from Tigh Na Beithe.

Despite it's setting in the heart of highland Perthshire, Killin is less than 2 hours drive from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth and about an hour from Stirling, making it a very attractive proposition to enjoy the extensive shopping and cultural magnets of the best cities in Scotland.  Nearer to hand is the famous Theatre at Pitlochry.

We offer "Off Season" two centre breaks over 7 nights at Tigh Na Beithe and Kilmichael Cottage near Lochgilphead, Mid Argyll OR Heatherlyn Cottage in Callander, Trossachs.  Two centre holidays of 14 nights or more are available all year round.  These popular options allow you to enjoy wonderful areas of Scotland with the reasurrance of staying in fabulous cottages, all equipped to the same high standard, and at discounted rates.  Please enquire for more information.
