The Highland Estate of Liarn is set in the heart of Perthshire, on the shores of Loch Rannoch. The self-catering cottages are fully equipped with panoramic views of the Loch & surrounding mountains.
Liarn Farm Holiday Cottages enjoy an enviable setting approximately half way along the north shore of Loch Rannoch, boasting panoramic views southward over the Loch to the Black Wood & Mountains beyond. The estate includes 182 acres of natural mixed woodland with open areas of scrub, moor & wetland. The colours in autumn are simply glorious.
The newly converted stone built cottages have been renovated with great care and are set within a traditional exterior. They are all fully equipped and offer spacious and comfortable accommodation, including a balcony with panoramic views over Loch Rannoch and the surrounding mountains. The landscape around the Loch is quite stunning in all seasons and makes an ideal base for walking, bird watching, fishing, photography or simply relaxing. There are plenty of activities for those of a more active disposition.
Mountain bikes are available for hire on site and there is a boat for cruises on the Loch (charges apply). We have a pets corner where the children can help feed the chickens & ducks, help collect the eggs, pet the rabbits & Shetland ponies, the Jacobs sheep love digestive biscuits!
There is a small lochan for fishing within the woods of Liarn. Fishing on Loch Rannoch is from shore or boat (permit required). Motorboat hire, sailing dinghy hire, yacht sailing, archery & orienteering can be arranged. Other activities on offer in the vicinity are plentiful and include golfing, rock climbing, hill walking, mountain climbing, white water rafting, canoeing, wind surfing and pony trekking. Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Blair Atholl, Perth and Inverness are all within easy driving distance. You may wish to take the train from Rannoch station to Fort William & on to Mallaig on the West Highland Railway Line (known as one of the World's most scenic railway journeys), from Mallaig you can take the ferry over the sea to Skye, Eigg, Much, Rum and Canna.
