Come visit the beautiful ' Ochills ' in your own backyard and experience the warm and friendly atmosphere in this, the heart of the famous ' Mill Trail '. There are a multitude of activities to choose from including Hill Walking, Golfing, Fishing and Sightseeing to name but a few. Some of the most famous golf courses in the world including St Andrews ( 30 mins ) Gleneagles ( 15 mins ) are located in this scenic part of Scotland. You can also choose to golf at some of the local courses, in fact Alva golf course is no more than a 5 min walk from the house. The river Devon is also a 5 min walk and there are also a lot of stocked lakes and ponds to choose from. There are so many historical sites to see in this area that it would be unfair to list but a few. The house has all the modern amenities you would expect and is nicely decorated while maintaining the old style character of a house that was built in 1838. The 'Ochills ' really are spectacular indeed and the Hill Walking they provide has to be seen to be believed.
The flat is located on the main street of Alva so it is a 2-5 min walk to the butcher, bakers, green grocers, fish monger and bank, as well as 6 different pubs. Restaurants and fast foods include pub style food, cafes with Scottish fare, the Boll's, two Indian restaurants, a Chinese take-away and excellent fish and chips. There is also a grocery store within a two min walk which is open from 7:30 am until 8 at night, for those who want to do their own cooking. Fresh scones, pancakes and rolls are also available early in the morning from the baker.
