If you like touring, all the major towns are within easy reach. Dundee is 20 minutes, Perth 30 minutes, Aberdeen 50 minutes, Edinburgh 1 hour and Glasgow 1 hours 30 minutes so you base yourself here and just take off for the day. Forfar, which is a typical market town is only 10 minutes away and has a 24 hour Tesco store.
Nearby visitor attractions include Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the Queen Mother only 3 miles away, and Kirriemuir which was the childhood home of J M Barrie who wrote Peter Pan only 7 miles away.
If you like hillwalking, shooting, fishing or skiing (in season) they are all available within easy reach. If golf is your favourite, you wil be spoilt for choice here as there are up to 4 courses within a 10 minute drive an a further 3 courses only 15 minutes away. The famous Old Course at St Andrews is about 35 minutes' drive away, and the links course at Carnoustie the same.
The cottage itself has five bedrooms, two have double beds, one has bunk beds and one has single beds. There are a further 2 sofa beds, one in the sitting room and the other in the upstairs lounge, so the cottage can accommodate up to 12 people.
The large kitchen dining room has all the space required to cook and seat 12 people, with a large refectory table enabling everyone to enjoy mealtimes. The kitchen is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, large 8-burner 3 oven cooker, microwave and slow cooker, as well as the usual kettle, toaster etc.
Thers is a bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, and a separate shower with toilet and sink. All duvets, bedlinen and towels are provided as well as the gas and electricity at no extra cost.
We have a tennis court which you area welcome to use and a river which you can fish for trout. There is also a snooker table available on request. We have a play area for children which includes, swings, football area and a trampoline.
