AMERICA COTTAGE - 4 STAR, so called because it is on the west side of the water which is Slipperfield Loch - a magnificent seven acre lake visible from America Cottage, but more so in the wintertime. The cottage is private and secluded, about a five minute walk from Loch Cottage, in a beautiful position, with an open garden.

The cottage is a bungalow, sleeping up to 6 in two twin bedrooms and one double, all with very comfortable beds with duvets. The kitchen is a feature, with all the modern appliances. The sitting room has a super picture window; see the countryside from your armchair!

The bathroom has an overhead shower above the bath, wash-hand basin and W.C.; there is also a hall with payphone, and internet facilities are available if required for laptop owners.

America Cottage is convenient for the bus which takes you to Edinburgh, and the village of West Linton is just over a mile away with its shops, post office, bank, pubs, restaurant and bookshop etc.

LOCH COTTAGE - 3 STAR once a gamekeeper's cottage, is a lovely romantic site, with splendid views over Slipperfield Loch. In 1929 Slipperfield House was built on to it, with Loch Cottage however remaining completely self-contained.

It has been tastefully modernised, sleeps up to 4 people, in one pretty twin bedroom downstairs, and one double bedded room up some fairly steep stairs, with a truly commanding view over the loch.

These stairs might not be suitable for everyone, and also due to the close proximity of the loch, young children might not be safe. The bathroom, kitchen and sitting/dining room are all downstairs on the same level with no steps.

Linen and towels may be hired. There is full oil central heating and as in America Cottage everything has been thought of to make this a most relaxing and comfortable and enjoyable, beautiful place to stay.
