Escape to the peace and quiet of Barend Holiday Village, near Sandyhills, on the beautiful south west coast of Scotland, with sixteen golf courses within a twenty mile drive; yet less than one hour's drive from the M74. There is abundant wildlife in the area and just from your chalet deck or verandah you will often see red squirrels, deer, badgers and birds of all descriptions.
Our warm, comfortable Scandinavian style log chalets are centrally heated for all year round use, many with more than one bathroom, almost all with showers. The chalets all have T.V. and video as standard; a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and many have additional facilities such as satellite, CD players, DVD players and dishwashers. Some overlook the loch, others the adjacent Colvend 18 hole golf course and others over the Solway to the hills and mountains of the Lake District. We have a launderette, a bar and restaurant, a sauna and an indoor heated pool, beer gardens, boules courts and a small children's playground.
The chalets can accommodate up to eight people. Prices include electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and free unlimited swimming. The only towels we ask you to bring are for the pool and beach. We are happy to welcome you for any length of stay from 3+ days from £177 for four, on any day of entry subject to availability.
Barend Holiday Village is a perfect base for touring, on foot, cycle or by car on the area's quiet roads. In the immediate vicinity there is free fishing on Barend Loch (which otters occasionally make use of!), a nearby riding centre and a beautiful and safe beach at Sandyhills. We have tourist information leaflets available at our reception office, and our friendly staff will help you make the most of your precious holiday time, by advising you how best to enjoy your time in Dumfries & Galloway.
