Barclosh Farm is a typical small Galloway farm, with two four star cottages each sleeping 4 people, and 3 people in the mobile home. The farm specialises in Belted Galloway cattle together with some Jacobs sheep and has plenty of gentle walking within our own boundaries. The farm has its own 14th century castle, although very little now remains. Barclosh is only two miles from Dalbeattie, twelve miles from the regional centre of Dumfries, five miles from Sandyhills beach, a similar distance from Rockcliffe and the yatching centre of Kippford. There are cliffs and beaches of the Colvend Coast, are at the south of Barclosh, these are one of the finest parts of Galloway. The beaches at Sandyhills and at Southerness are vast, whilst there are six miles of walks along the cliffs and nearly seventeen miles of walks in Dalbeattie Forest alone.
