Scottsboro House sits in 2 acres of grounds, in an elevated site overlooking a tiny hamlet. The property has stood there since 1780 and was the childhood home of the famous Irish botanist Professor Robert Scott. It has a picturesque setting and from each window a rural scene. The only sounds to interrupt this idyll is the putt putt of a tractor, the cawing and tweeting of birds, the baaing of sheep or the mooing of cows. You will not be disappointed with the interior which is tastefully furnished with antique pieces and contempory art hangs on the walls yet with the mod cons necessary to facilitate family life. It is first and foremost a warm welcoming family home. It is ideal for a family reunion or a friends get together, to celebrate a special event. Upstairs there are five bedrooms and three bathrooms whilst downstairs is a wet room with wc especially helpful if one of your party is infirm. We are very particular about the small details and you will find Scottsboro standards very high in all areas. We have a 5 star Northern Ireland Tourist Board rating but we are much more than this. We use holiday homes and know what we like and dislike. We supply all towels which are fluffy and luxurious and our pillows have bounce and a stock of extra linen. There is a stock of washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, soaps and gels, loo and kitchen rolls. In the kitchen cupboards you will find a stock of herbs (and also fresh in the garden) and a welcome pack of provisions. Walk down to the hamlet where you will find a village store, a post office and a pub (which has barbeques in an outdoor covered area from May to September on Friday and Saturdays nights). There is a wealth of things to do for those of you who want to not just laze in front of the log fire or weather permitting hang out in the garden. We have National Trust properties and parks on our doorstep, the delights of cruising on Lower Lough Erne or a spot of fishing, visit Belleek pottery or cross the border to Monaghan and Donegal, horse riding at Castle Leslie, rambling walks galore. So dont delay come and see what you are missing, whether for short or long breaks we can accomodate all. For More InformationVisit Property's WebsiteSpecial Features
