the history of Drumcorn Farm shows that it has been a working Dairy Farm since the late 1800's where the milk was taken by horse & cart into Londonderry / Derry and sold from door to door.
In the present day, the farm consists of 160 milking cows on 150 acres of land. Dairy farming is a job that requires commitment, its an all day, 7 days a week job. The Dairy cows have to be milked twice a day, 5:00am in the morning, and 3:30pm in the afternoon, 365 days year.
As well as the commitment, skill and knowledge are required to be a successful dairy farm. Knowing when the grass is ready to be cut for silage, planning, investment to improve efficiency and animal welfare combined with working with nature each season.
