The Barn House, an award - winning conversion of a pillar and aisle barn, is the only known example in Yorkshire of a barn with a 4’ aisle. This may not have been as convenient as an 8’ aisle for tethering cattle, but it has made a wonderfully attractive living room with its original wooden frame intact, now with a solid oak floor and furnished with antique Persian rugs, comfortable sofas and chairs, coffee tables and an oak refectory table. A well-equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, microwave oven and dishwasher, a shower room and WC and two twin bedrooms ( one en suite ) complete the ground floor. Overlooking the main room is a minstrel gallery, equipped with books and toys which makes an ideal play area for children, or a temporary office (there is a desk and broadband access). A double bedroom with en suite bathroom is on the first floor. The inclusion of a sofa - bed ensures that The Barn House will sleep 7, but another bedroom / bathroom wing, available on request and at additional cost, means that 8 people can be accommodated in four bedrooms.
There is ample parking space and all linen and towels are included in the price. A heating supplement is charged during the winter months.
Come to walk or hike over the fields and hills, visit historic sites, (Bronte country is within easy distance), tour television locations ( Last of the Summer Wine and Where the Heart Is are both filmed in the area) or use your stay to cover a wider area.
