There are other Pennine Way walks from nearby Crowden or Saddleworth Moor. Canal towpaths and reservoir paths offer opportunities for superb shorter walks. Holmfirth (Summer Wine area) is 5 miles and Huddersfield 11 miles away. Bretton Sculpture Park is 10 miles away, with the Peak District also providing good walking country with unspoit towns and villages. You could pay a visit Chatsworth House and the spa town of Buxton. the cities of Leeds, Bradford, Manchester and Sheffield all about 40 minutes away offering a choice of theatres, museums and other entertainment.
