A luxuriously modernised, spacious detached C19th Victorian farmhouse in private grounds within the National Park. One antique double bed, a 5' 4-Poster plus twin-bedded rooms, some with ensuite shower/bathrooms. Wheelchair friendly with downstairs facilities – as a disabled member of a party from Stafford wrote in the Visitor’s Book, “A true home from home… Warm evenings with open fires… Brilliant wheelchair access – it made my holiday comfortable and worry-free.” Beautiful walks and views quite literally "on the doorstep"! Approximately 3 miles from Pickering, we are adjacent to Dalby Forest with its activity areas and only a few miles from the thrills of Flamingoland Theme Park’s million-pound rides and Zoo; everyone will enjoy a ride on the Steam Train over the Moors to “Aidensfield” and Captain Cook’s old fishing village at Whitby beyond (one of the locations for the original “Harry Potter” film). In half-an-hour you could be enjoying an ice cream at Scarborough’s Golden Mile, with several other seaside resorts within an easy drive and you’ll all be sure to catch your own trout for tea at Pickering’s well-stocked fishing lake
At York, you can view the stately Minster from the Roman city walls, then experience Viking life at the Jorvik Centre, see famous locos, Royal coaches, and have plenty of hands-on fun at the National Railway Museum (still free admission!), or sit at the controls of a jet aeroplane at the Yorkshire Air Museum; York Dungeons are also well worthy of a visit.
