Duke splace is a discreet group of self catering properties which have been developed from the former outbuildings of the Georgian farmstead. whilst not large they are well designed, comfortable and well maintained by the owners (Paul & Jaki) who live in the adjacent Georgian house from where they offer a warm welcome to self catering and bed and breakfast guests alike. There are properties to suit most tastes, upstairs or ground floor, one or two bedrooms (one property is available with 3 bedrooms out of high season) Our 2 mobile park homes are situated discreetly on their own lawn overlookingnthe fields with plenty of room for children & pets to play in safety.
Duke’s Place is situated in the heart of Nidderdale, next to the "The Courtyard" that consists of a group of SIX discreet and well-maintained holiday cottages converted from the original stables, Granary and outbuildings. There are also three charming Bed & Breakfast (B&B) rooms available in the owner's Georgian home which, with the working stables, helps to form an enclosed courtyard that features a fountain in the centre creating a tranquil environment and a relaxing atmosphere.
Guests and visitors who choose to tour the Yorkshire Dales and visit the many beauty spots or historical buildings that are on our doorstep can be assured that upon their return they can unwind at their leisure and enjoy the many facilities that The Courtyard has to offer.
At the end of the day you may wish to relax and talk over the day's events in our peaceful surroundings whilst the children play in the log cabin playhouse in the Beech Wood. You may also take advantage of our stables and go pony trekking, or stroll through the grounds where hens, ducks and geese freely wander, often followed by their offspring. There are a total of 16 acres of grassland associated with Duke's Place, frequented by our horses and sheep, so there is plenty of scope for wandering.
The local Nidderdale area is steeped in heritage with outstanding historical attractions such as Fountains Abbey and Ripley Castle both of which are less than 5 minutes drive away. There are many more notable sites can be easily reached from the Courtyard, with Brimham Rocks, Ripon Cathedral, the picturesque market town of Knaresborough and Harrogate with its Conference Facilities no more than 15 minutes away by car.
Laptop users will be able to use WIRELESS BROADBAND that is available in the main house.
