Savernake is no ordinary holiday home, it is a home our family has an enormous affection for, which we are happy to share with others. It is a family home that is loved, with beautiful unobstructed views of the sea, Thurlestone Rock and the surrounding countryside. The house stands in its own substantial gardens adjacent to the dunes, the beach and the SW coastal footpath, offering easy access to the seashore and to many miles of superb cliff walks. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To the west there are several beaches and the village of Bantham on the Avon estuary. To the east is the village of Hope Cove and through the National Trust coastal property to the picturesque town of Salcombe. Thurlestone Golf Course is nearby, a handicap is required for use of the course, hard and grass tennis courts are available for hire. Sailing is obtainable in Salcombe 6 miles away. Dartmoor, Plymouth, Torquay and Dartmouth are within easy reach.Savernake, this wonderful 1920 house, famous for Lawrence of Arabia’s 1932 visit, was sympathetically updated and refurbished in 1999 retaining its own unique charm.
