The city boasts many individual shops and a wide range of award winning restaurants. ‘The Bear’, a 16th century village pub, is a 15 minutes’ walk from Sheylors Farm, serving traditional and local ales and excellent local food. There are two large supermarkets within 4 miles.Sheylors Farm has been returned to a natural, regenerating, habitat and is a protected conservation site. This makes it ideal for lovers of the countryside. All the land around the farm is natural meadow and is home to many forms of wildlife including kestrels, deer, badgers and fox. With the help of The Hawk and Owl Trust, wild barn owls have successfully bred on the site for the last 4 years. They can frequently be seen hunting in the early evening in the meadows and fields.Nearby are the historic towns of Bradford-on-Avon, Castle Combe, Lacock and Stone Henge is 45 minutes’ drive away. There are two 18-hole golf courses within 5 minutes with lake/river fishing and the National Trust properties a short drive away.
