Hillway Lodge enjoys a unique situation in the heart of Exmoor National Park. Set within Hillway Farm, a 62-acre hill farm perched high above the Barle Valley, the lodge has stunning views over the farmland to the moor land of Withypool Common.

Much of the farm is ancient upland oak woodland. Guests can walk among carpets of bluebells, violets and primroses. Look out for the small herd of roe deer and the buzzards which soar overhead.The riverbank, which is a site of special scientific interest, forms the southern boundary of the farm. It is home to otters, kingfishers and goosander ducks.
Hillway Farm lies between the ancient monuments of Cow Castle and Tarr Steps, and is a truly tranquil spot. It provides the perfect base for walking, riding, bird watching, fishing and painting. Stabling and grazing available.

There is immediate access to the moor with miles of open country ahead of you. The Two Moors Way passes the farm gate.

The village of Withypool is 1 mile away, with an excellent old pub, village shop and post office.

Local Area

Wild red deer and Exmoor ponies roam the moorland. One of the annual
gatherings of the ponies is held in October at the top of Hillway Farm.

Miles of superb walking & riding is available straight from the farm gate.
The coast is 20 minutes drive away with spectacular cliffs and beaches along
with great surfing.

Hillway Farm lies between the ancient monuments of Tarr Steps and Cow
Castle. Also within easy reach are:
Wimbleball Reservoir, Doone Valley, Dunster Castle, West Somerset Railway,
Lynmouth and Lynton linked by their funicular railway and a range of famous
gardens.
