Stable Cottage is one of two farm cottages in West Withy Farm. Both are furnished, equipped and maintained to a high standard. Stable Cottage sleeps 4 (one double, one twin bedroom) plus cot. (Upton Cottage sleeps 6 (one double, one twin and one bunk bedroom) plus cot.) Each cottage is fully centrally heated and has a gas-fired 'wood-burner' stove, a colour television, fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker and microwave oven, individual enclosed south facing garden and ample parking space. Situated in the beautiful Brendon Hill countryside on the edge of Exmoor National Park, West Withy Farm is a haven of peace and tranquillity. The 23-acre smallholding has panoramic views across green pastures to the hills on the horizon. Two local stone barns have been skilfully converted to create character cottages offering centrally heated comfort and modern conveniences. You will discover there are a wealth of ideas for interesting days out, so much so that many of our visitors returns time and time again Unlike many other of the country's beauty spots and national parks, Exmoor remains unspoilt and underdeveloped. The area teems with wildlife and West Withy provides an idea; base from which to explore its moors and woodlands, its famous herds of red deer and wild Exmoor ponies. Bird life is abundant with many increasingly rare and unusual species. The coastline of West Somerset and North Devon with its dramatic cliffs are within easy reach and offer excellent walks, quiet coves, some superb beaches and spectacular views. The area has many visitor attractions to suit a wide variety of interests from country houses to the West Somerset steam railway. The area has many good pubs and restaurants including the Lowtrow Cross Inn less than a mile away. Taunton and access to the M5 are around half an hours journey. The historic town of Dunster is a twenty minute drive. Historic Exmoor, Tarr Steps, the Doone Valley, Lynmouth and the small country towns of Bampton and Dulverton, are all within easy reach.
