Thorne Manor is a mixed farm of 175 acres. It is thought that much of the manor house dates from the early 16thC. With its inglenook fireplaces, beamed ceilings and prolific history, it offers visitors a wealth of old world charm. The rooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard. Guest accommodation comprises a large double (en suite), with tea/coffee facilities, and TV lounge. Visitors are welcome to use the large walled garden.Until you visit Thorne St Margaret, it is hard to believe just how amazingly pretty and peaceful this tiny hamlet really is, just a church, a few cottages, and farmland all around with thick hedgerows, wild flowers and song birds in a totally unspoilt and most unvisited corner of West Somerset. Just 4 miles west of Wellington (and 10 from Taunton), it nestles between the Quantock and Blackdown Hills. Thorne Manor is at the centre of the hamlet near the church.A peaceful holiday may be spent here, some extracts from the diary: "Walked locally for about 9 miles, a plethora of beautiful villages and abundance of wildlife in the hedgerows. Spotted a badger and a fox. Not another walker seen the whole of the day."We've revelled in the peace and tranquility of Thorne St Margaret" High Season Low Season Closed at Christmas, Closed at New Year Double en suite |
