Lyndale Cottage is an 18th century character stone cottage situated in the pretty village of Roadwater at the foot of the Brendon Hills in Exmoor National Park. The features of the cottage include exposed beams throughout, flagstone and wood floors, an open fire and a wood-burner. The cottage sleeps four comfortably and is equipped and furnished to a high standard, including full heating for the winter months. It possesses its own private parking area and hill-side garden 50 yards from the door, and there is an inn serving excellent food within easy walking distance. Lyndale Cottage comprises two double bedrooms, a ground floor shower-room and toilet, a kitchen, a living room and a separate dining room. The two double bedrooms are furnished for comfort as well as character, one with twin beds and the other bedroom with a double bed. Prices are inclusive of duvets, bedlinen (dorma), electricity and an initial basket logs (winter months). Everything has been provided for that perfect short break or the longer stay. The comfortable living-room, with its cosy wood-burner and open plan staircase, has two sofas, one of which will convert to a double bed, a television and a CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a washer-dryer and a dishwasher, plus all cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware. The dining room has a farm-house style table, with seating arrangements for six, a welsh dresser and an open fire and is an ideal setting for that special evening. The garden has a barbeque area with a table and plenty of chairs and is a lovely spot for a picnic or just a place to relax in to the rippling sound of nearby streams. Up to 2 dogs welcome by arrangement. The village of Roadwater is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, characterised by deep wooded valleys, steep rolling hills and a spectacular coastline. It is situated in Exmoor National Park, nearby to the Quantock Hills and at the midpoint of the Coleridge Way and is a perfect area for outdoor pursuits, such as walking, cycling, fishing and horse-riding. Alternatively, if you want to enjoy beaches, the coast is a mere three miles away. The area has plenty of historical interest as well, including the ancient port of Watchet and the mediaeval village of Dunster. For something totally different, you can always treat yourself to a nostalgic journey by steam train through the beautiful Somerset countryside. Lyndale, with its prime location in Exmoor National Park, has something special to offer whatever the time of year. It really is a place for all seasons. In Spring you can see the Exmoor pony foals take their first steps, while in Summer you can appreciate the heather in full bloom. In Autumn the woodlands are a riot of colour and in Winter you can glimpse the previously hidden views through the bare branches.
