Bradley Cross Farm is situated within an area of high biodiversity, supporting local rare species of plants and animal life. The land is noteworthy for its importance as a flight corridor and feeding ground for the greater Horseshoe bat.Cheddar Gorge, site of special scientific interest, lies to the north of the farm and Mascalls' wood, an ancient woodland, lies to the west. The traditional breed of Longhorn cattle and Wiltshire Horn sheep are well suited to managing the natural grassland on the farm. The farm itself is of historical interest. A recent survey showed evidence of medieval terracing and ruined lime kilns. The stone cottage was built around 1850. It was formely occupied by the local shepherd; and has recently been renovated by the current owners to a high standard with the addition of a modern kitchen and bathroom.
