The Bakehouse is one of four beautifully-converted farm buildings set in grounds of more than 2 acres. Original beams and an inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove are features of this warm, comfortable and fully-equipped cottage which is surrounded by farm and National Trust land.
The cosy atmosphere and peaceful surroundings make this a very popular cottage for couples looking for a quiet, romantic getaway.
The Bakehouse was originally the kitchen for the 15th Century farmhouse which is Grade II listed.
Although Home Farm is a non-working farm, we have chickens that roam the enclosed paddock (an ideal area for children to play) and a small number of sheep that lamb every March. Fresh eggs are usually available.
The cottage is 4-star ETB rated and you can take a virtual tour of The Bakehouse on our website.
It is a great place to relax and unwind with many lovely walks in the area, and is ideally situated for Cheddar with its caves, Wookey Hole, Wells, Longleat, Glastonbury, Bristol and Bath. Sandy beaches are just 5 miles away and horse riding, golf, and dry-slope skiing are available locally.
The local village, Winscombe, provides a wide range of local shops, takeaways and banks, with several pubs that serve excellent family food also lying within easy range.
Home Farm is part of a quiet, peaceful hamlet with a backcloth of the Mendip Hills and views across the Loxton Valley and its patchwork of fields. The cottages are set in a designated area of Outstanding natural Beauty. The local vantage point of Crook Peak offers views as far as the Brecon Beacons and across the Somerset levels.
