The stone built cottage has been converted from old stable buildings adjacent to the CAMRA listed Miners Arms in the glorious Forest of Dean. It has been tastefully furnished to a high standard and features a large balcony off the upstairs lounge to take best advantage of the uninterrupted views of the Forest across open farmland. The large private and secluded patio with garden furniture is the ideal spot for a summer barbeque. For train enthusiasts, the Dean Forest steam railway runs alongside. Nearby attractions include access to the miles of Forest trails for walking and cycling. Other local attractions include the RSPB Nags Head Nature Reserve, Hopewell Colliery, Puzzle Wood, Clearwell Caves, Taurus Crafts and the Dean Heritage Centre. We are also ideally placed for trips to the stunning Wye Valley, Tintern Abbey, Monmouth, Chepstow and Ross on Wye. Cheltenham, the Cotswolds and Wales are all within easy driving distance. The cottage is spacious; it has a double bedroom with large en-suite bathroom that includes a separate two-person shower. It also has a single bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge. There is a separate shower room plus a utility room with laundry facilities. The kitchen diner is well appointed and is big enough to easily accommodate 6 around the dining table. If the view from the balcony isn’t enough to entertain you, in the lounge is a wide screen TV with freeview channels. There is also a DVD and video player with a small range of DVDs and videos and a CD player. Books and board games are also available and of course, you are next door to one of the finest pubs in the Forest. The Miners Arms is a friendly village local renowned for its real ales and ciders. It specialises in beers from microbreweries and generally carries 4 real ales and 3 real ciders. It is open from 12.00 all day every day and serves bar meals at lunchtimes.
