Situated in the heart of beautiful rural Dorset in the peaceful hamlet of Woolland, Ellwood Cottages are outstanding conversions of three traditionally built barns, in a courtyard setting. Named after Dorset writers Hardy, Barnes and Blyton, these wheelchair accessible cottages have been lovingly restored to provide comfortable, tastefully furnished, year-round, single storey self catering holiday accommodation for disabled people, their families, friends and carers. Outdoors there are spacious landscaped gardens with tables and chairs for guests’ use, so providing stunning views across fields with farm animals and wildlife, to Bulbarrow Hill and Ibberton Hill. AccessibilityAll cottages and guest areas were designed and built with disabled people in mind. We welcome all. Everywhere is fully wheelchair accessible, with wide doorways, good turning circles, electrical sockets at raised level, no steps and floor coverings appropriate for wheelchairs and those unsteady on their feet (no rugs to trip over). Shower rooms are ‘wet-room’ style, with the appropriate grab rails and the basins have quarter-turn lever taps. Waste bins are flip top rather than pedal/foot operated. |
