We are in Sturminster Newton, in the heart of the Blackmore Vale, ideally placed for walking, fishing, the Jurassic coast, pretty villages and market towns, historic houses and gardens, ancient hill forts and ruins, plus lots of family activities. The two self-catering cottages, Rose Cottage and Jasmine Cottage, are situated in the grounds of a Grade II listed thatched cottage dating from the 15th century, in the peaceful hamlet of Newton, just outside the market town of Sturminster Newton. The cottages are surrounded by over an acre of meadow and gardens, overlooking the River Stour and Newton Mill. The cottages are single-storey stable conversions, re-clad in the original elm to retain their original character. Each cottage comprises: · Kitchen/diner/lounge · Main bedroom with one king-size (6 ft wide) or two single (3 ft wide) beds · Second bedroom with one single bed (3 ft wide) · Bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin The cottages are well-equipped, including electric hob and oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster; TV, DVD player, CD/radio/cassette player. Linen and towels provided. Washing machine available. Well-behaved pets welcome. No smoking in the cottages. Use of gardens, with seating and picnic areas and views of the river and mill. Accessibility: the cottages are single-storey, with level floors throughout. There are two steps to the front door, for which ramps are available.
