The beach is monitored by lifeguards and operates the KidZone scheme which reunites lost children with their parents. There are two great playparks nearby (including a sandy cliff top park), and a skateboarding park for teenagers. Southbourne is only three miles from Bournemouth Town Centre, and the flat is easy walking distance to local pubs. There is an excellent beach-front restaurant and cliff top cafe.
