"The ideal venue for a great get-together" The House is set in around two acres of garden on the South West Coastal path at the foot of Stonebarrow Hill, on the eastern edge of the lovely Regency village of Charmouth.A few minutes walk to the village and the famous fossil cliffs and part sandy beach of Jane Austen's "sweet retired bay" A perfect base for walking and fossiling along the famous Jurassic Coast now a World heritage Site. Two miles away is Lyme Regis and the "Cobb". The part 16th century House is well equipped, warm (CH) and comfortable. Three wings of bedrooms sleep up to 37 in 18 rooms plus two cots. Most rooms are en-suite. (12 en-suite, 2 shared private bathrooms and one House Bathroom) Bed linen is provided but not towels. Downstairs there are two living rooms with comfortable sofas and chairs. A large open reception area plus dining room with a huge square table seating up to 24 plus add on tables to seat all 37. A well equipped kitchen with a range cooker, 2 fridges,Microwave,holding oven etc. Laundry with Washing Machine & Dryer. Preparation room with Commercial Dishwasher and Wine Cooler. Games room with a Pool Table & Table Tennis table & Darts. In addition to the CH there are three log fires(2 Stoves and one open fireplace) Outside the front garden has parking, a large brick BBQ & picnic area and a sun terrace. A secluded south facing walled garden is available for sun bathing and quiet moments. A brochure is available on request. We are open year round for long weekends , weeks and midweek breaks. Well behaved Dogs are welcomed by arrangement.We have a Caterer available for anything from a Formal fully Catererd meal to a BBQ and can help with a huge range of local activities, Flowers , Shopping etc We are perfect for Family gatherings & Holidays,Special Birthdays and Anniversary's.Large group Weekends & Reunions,Company Training & Team Building,Lecture & Study Days and Retreats. We are booking into 2007 Things to do in the areaThere is a huge range of local activities available including swimming, walking, golf, horse riding across Golden Cap, paint balling, quad biking, and fishing. Adults and older children will enjoy fossil hunting on the beach which can be rewarding, educational and very addictive. Charmouth village has a pharmacy, a G.P Surgery, 2 small supermarkets, a butchers , Post Office, newsagents, 2 hairdressers, 2 pubs, and a fish & chip shop. Charmouth is perfectly positioned for day excursions to East Devon (the Donkey Sanctuary being a favourite) or east to the Georgian town of Bridport and "Hardy" country to Dorchester. A little further afield are Abbotsbury with the Swannery and Tropical Gardens and the bustling resort of Weymouth. Local markets are in Bridport, Axminster, Dorchester and Honiton and local towns are excellent hunting grounds for antiques and rare books. There are several beaches nearby including the famous Chesil Beach and wonderful walks across the cliffs or local paths and nature reserves. The area is one of "outstanding natural beauty" and perfect for an active or relaxing holiday or centre for touring. 16th Century Stonebarrow Manor stands in 2 acres of garden, on the South West Coastal Path at the foot of Stonebarrow Hill on the edge of the lovely Regency village of Charmouth, West Dorset.
