Our 4 cottages form part of the old Shitterton Farm complex, most of which dates back to the 18thC. All the cottages have been converted to a very high modern standard, whilst retaining most of the original features.Three of the four cottages, Troy, Bathsheba and Oak, open onto a walled courtyard with undercover game facilities. The Old Dairy, a detached cottage, is close by and has its own large garden. All the cottages have use of the owners’ tennis court.The cottages are only 5 minutes walk from the village centre, with its 2 pubs and 2 village stores, yet are at the end of a picturesque lane, lined by thatched cottages, right on the edge of the village. This is a very safe place for children.Surrounded by farmland, there are delightful walks over heath land and through beautiful bluebell woods, straight from the front door. This is a great place for dogs, walkers and mountain bikers.Bere Regis is centrally placed for most of Dorset’s wonderful attractions. We’re about half an hour from the beaches of Weymouth, Lulworth Cove, Swanage and Studland. The Dorset coastal path, which runs along the World Heritage ‘Jurassic Coast’, is easily accessible. Close to the cottages are the world famous Tank Museum at Bovington, Monkey World, Corfe Castle and many other National Trust properties.For the active there are sailing, horse riding and golf in the vicinity. We have stables and paddocks for those wishing to bring horses to take advantage of the excellent local riding.We particularly welcome larger groups of family or friends wishing to use 2 or more cottages. Two of the cottages are suitable for the less mobile, having downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. All have downstairs cloakrooms.Troy Cottage has a lounge with woodburner and kitchen/diner downstairs and 3 bedrooms, including a bunkroom, upstairs. Troy can accommodate 7 people.
