Florence Cottage 

A Grade 11 listed fisherman's cottage, located in the heart of Appledore with it's shops, pubs, restaurants, art galleries and Maritime Museum.

You will see that some of the streets were designed for horses rather than cars. Unfortunately, because of the narrow streets, Florence Cottage does not have off road parking. You may load and unload outside the cottage, but cars may be parked either along the quay or in the long stay car park where a weekly ticket can be obtained. Both are only a short distance from the cottage.

Florence Cottage has it's own drying area, and the entrance to the cottage itself is behind a door which leads into a terrace of three privately owned cottages, and is fully enclosed for our two and four legged guests. Two bus stops within walking distance.

In All Our Cottages

• Fully furnished rooms, equipped to a homely standard.
• Fully equipped kitchens with electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, slow cooker and washing machine (sorry, no dishwasher bring your 'marigolds'!).
• Iron, ironing board, cleaning equipment.
• Duvets (not feathered) and bedspreads. Blankets are available if preferred.
• Linen and towel hire available.
• Cots, highchairs and stair gates are available for our tiny visitors (no linen for cots).
• Electricity by coin meter.
• Night storage heating in Cross House Cottage and Florence Cottage. Cross House Wing is centrally heated at the discretion of the owners.
• Pets are welcome, at no charge for up to two. however, a charge will be made for more than two pets.
• We take a damage deposit, returnable within 7 days if no damage has occurred.
• A charge is made for any additional persons over the maximum which each accommodation sleeps.

The Area

Whether you're on a touring holiday or just enjoying a short break in this unspoilt area of North Devon, our cottages offer an ideal base.

There are many beaches nearby Westward Ho! is only five minutes drive and cars can be driven onto Northarn Burrows, adjacent to the beach (charges are made during the season). Instow, Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe are all within an easy drive.

For our green fingered guests there's RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Tapeley Park and, further afield, the Eden Project.

Also not to be missed are Clovelly, with steep cobbled streets leading down to the picturesque harbour; and Lynton & Lynmouth, scene of the tragic flood of 1952 and linked by the famous cliff railway.

There's horse riding locally or, for the more adventurous, the Tarka Trail where you can walk for miles or hire cycles for the whole family while you take in the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

For those guests with children there's The Milky Way and The Big Sheep adventure parks only a short drive away.
